Visual studio 2010 will provide you a sample hello world mvc application. For opening it you will follow following steps
File->New Project->Web->ASP.NET MVC2 Web Application and you will get first hello world mvc application. Remember that not to start ASP.NET MVC2 empty web application.
I think may be it is not necessary to use LINQ for MVC application but by using that you will improve security features and efficiency.
